How it all began...
is the brainchild of award winning Master Silk Artist Birgit Bartoschek, who relocated her Black Forest Germany based studio to the US more than 30 years ago.
Birgit gained international experience and acknowledgement in many countries around the world. Her work is strongly influenced by 17+ years of International travel through Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East as well as all of her Corgis: Schroeder, Linus, Lucy, Belle and Rerun who are the number one inspiration for all her dog and Pembroke Welsh Corgi related artwork.

All of my artwork is meticulously hand painted on silk, then photographed and finally edited for reproduction. At this time I mainly design and print custom t-shirts with colorful, unique dog breed designs that celebrate the individual dog breeds personality.
I love bringing joy to dog owners and their furry friends. We know that when people wear their dog shirts it brings a smile to evrybody’s face. That’s what ownedbymydog.com is all about!”
